I’m Amara, a braider working out of a small studio just off Brixton Hill. Knotless braids, cornrows and protective styles, with neat partings, comfortable tension and a finish that lasts. Booking’s online, and a deposit holds your slot.
About
Ten years braiding, most of it in south London
It’s just me. No rushing, no double-booking, no handing you off halfway through. You get the same pair of hands from start to finish, and I only take one client at a time so I can give your hair the attention it needs.
I work with type 3 and type 4 hair, and I’m happy to talk through what suits your length, texture and how much time you’ve got before I pick up the comb.
Good to know
Come with your hair washed, blow-dried and detangled. If that’s not doable, add a wash-and-prep when you book. Bring headphones and a drink, longer styles are a few hours in the chair.

Prices are a starting point. The final cost depends on length and how much hair you want added. Extensions can be included, just ask when you book.
Knotless braids, medium
The everyday favourite. Light on the scalp and easy to sleep in.
Knotless braids, small
Finer, fuller and longer-lasting. A proper day in the chair.
Box braids
A classic. Any length, any thickness you like.
Cornrows / feed-in
Straight-backs or a pattern, tell me what you’re after.
Stitch braids
Clean, defined lines that hold their shape for weeks.
Faux locs
Soft, lightweight locs without the commitment.
Passion twists

Booking & deposits
A £20 deposit secures your appointment and comes off the final price. Please give 48 hours’ notice to move or cancel, or the deposit’s kept. Running more than 15 minutes late may mean rebooking.
